Meanwhile, I get the hell out of there and sprint up the road to mount my waiting steed. Pretty soon, the Stormcloaks forget about me and are fully engrossed in trying to take out the Vampires and skeletons that inhabit that particular cave. I chug another stamina potion and make sure the cave's residents know I'm there too. I book it for the entrance to Broken Fang Cave and all 20 Stormcloaks are right on my heels. Sure enough, all 20 of them pull out their weapons and head towards me, ready to teach me a painful lesson. I made sure the path to the cave entrance was clear of soldiers, then I shot the closest Stormcloak (just in the shoulder, I'm not a monster).
I don't have any love for the Stormcloaks (or the Imperials, for that matter) and it occured to me that I might be able to use those soldiers to clear the cave of vampires and get all that sweet loot for myself. By the time I actually got to the battle, all the Imperials were dead and there were about 20 Stormcloaks forming ranks and marching towards Whiterun on the road. I was wandering around the plains west of Whiterun, and came upon a large battle between the Stormcloaks and Imperials just outside of Broken Fang Cave.
